Welcome to Cambridge String Project

The Cambridge String Project is a new programme for students in Year 4 to begin their musical journey to learn the violin, viola, cello or string bass.  This programme is designed to  introduce students to the beautiful world of beginning orchestra music and help develop skills as a musician.

Throughout this programme, our focus will be on the fundamentals of playing an instrument, understanding musical notation, and working harmoniously as a string ensemble. We firmly believe that music is not only a creative and expressive art form, but also a collaborative pursuit that nurtures teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.

During our rehearsals, we will learn how to read sheet music, comprehend various musical symbols, and play in harmony with one another. We will explore a wide array of musical genres and styles, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions, gradually building our repertoire of pieces to perform together.
